Differences between .NET Core and .NET Framework

The .NET Core is an open source .NET Framework for Cross Platforms (Windows/Linux/Mac) from Microsoft.  This .NET Core is a subset of .NET Framework. It is primarily designed and targeted for Web development products such as ASP .NET 1.0 Core (which is also our Open Source version of ASP.NET) and other services.  From the architectural point of view, .NET Core is the same runtime and class libraries you are all familiar with in .NET Framework.  The design and functionality is not changed as part of this Cross Platform port and your existing knowledge of .NET Framework stands still for this version of .NET.
