when i watching this series i remembered the times i start to learn coding. there was no youtube and all courses were expensive (if you find a course in such spesific area). now we are watching high-quality content for free on demand. after i thought this i instantly disabled my ad blocker. i felt ashamed 🙁

I'm in linux but I've never needed to use sudo with npm, it just works, any ideas of why is this?

Why add this perverse complexity? Your application is now dependent on 3rd party components/tools you have no control over. Ractive.js is much like Vue.js but it doesn't suddenly depend on node.js, npm, webpack etc… Really unfortunate if Vue has suddenly driven developers into depending on node.js instead of simple files being included with a script tag. Tell me vue.js doesn't force this aberration on the developer. Very much undermines vue.js. In ractive.js you can simply reference <script id="x" src="mytemplate.somename" type="text" … more or less></script> var inst = new ractive({el:xyz, data{}, template:#x…}) or build a component version and load using ractive's… Read more »

Now regarding the complexity, when you are building a large application. all of this 'complexity' makes maintenance and development simpler. When you throw in things like SEMVER and Continous Integration into the mix, all these extra steps start helping you. As you app grows, Bundling with Webpack allows you to split your app into smaller modules and bundle them for the browser. Since you need to bundle your app up having pre-configured build processes help the rest of your team (if you have one) get on track faster. Now you don't have to use any of this at all, you can… Read more »

Not seeing the compexity by adding script files — is webpack , node.js, etc.. abolutely necessary to use vue with a template .vue file? If so why did they go down that path versus include it as a script file directly. If I'm using Microsoft MVC must I use node.js, etc.. to use vue? seems very rediculous when I can do anything in Ractive.js you've shown in Vue with none of these unix/commandline dependencies. Why isn't vue.js external files capable of operating without node.js, etc?? — thanks

I don't see the complexity. Using webpack is standard in most more complex projects and it's really great that vue.js allows you to build both more complex project (e.g. using a setup like this) and simpler projects as shown in JSFiddle in earlier parts of this series.
