if you only have one 'header' (or searchview) you dont need to deal with different itemviews, just wrap searchview and recyclerview in nestedscrollview and you will have the same scroll effect.

Bro actually you could have achieved what you want without using editText in recyclerView all you have to do is use coordinator layout. extend search view class and add behavior to it the down side of this approach is you to maintain view type and that shit doesn't scale well trust me I have done such things

actually the ans is simple we want our fab to pop when user scrolls up that don't mean we add it to our recyclerView .No hard feelings bro.

Nice and clean, extend the objective to recycler view with headers , for example : Instagram. To vivz and slidenerd:I'm waiting for a series on smart syncing with server, using sync adapter or something better. Let's see how long vivz and slidenerd channel gonna take to look into that.More specifically : Network request -> data parsed and stores in sqlite -> shown in recycler view using CONTENT PROVIDERS -> interaction with single row does all magic syncing

+slidenerd slidenerd has been a great channel for me as a starter but I have been requesting a single small series on SYNC ADAPTER since last year, there is no response. It will be helpful to all developers if you provide it as there is no valuable stuff available on YouTube in the context of SYNC ADAPTER.
