Jim Hugunin has spent the last few years building a high-resolution realtime cloth simulation simulator within Unity. In this talk he explains the hard technical challenges in formulating an algorithm that can take maximum advantage of the GPUs capabilities. Can anyone tell us if this is being adapted for film/games? Is this just a "hey look what I did!" talk? The wind demo at the end was intriguing and I know that adapting this for gaming would really change a lot.

I wish this was actually available in some form.. like perhaps as an asset on the asset store. I have trouble seeing the point of this talk, since the author doesn't tell us enough to actually implement it and doesn't distribute his code in any form.
