Need a part 2, this was "epic". ;)Also, where can someone learn stuff like this? Are most people self taught or can you study somewhere?

Thomas McMichael this is more of the answer I was looking for thank you for taking the time to reply P.S. I would personally go with the mesh+particles option too!

Think of it this way…There are usually at least 3 different way to accomplish something in the 3d world. Lets take a waterfall for example…Some people might chose to make a mesh and use an animated texture, others might use ONLY particle systems. At my place of work, we use a mixture of the 2.As for vector fields, you can buy them on the marketplace, but, if you are willing to learn, youtube can your best friend. Might also want to look into "digitaltutors", even tho that costs I believe unless you were a student somewhere. Since a lot of… Read more »

Thomas McMichael yea, thx a lot for replying but I meant the vfx used in the video not ue4 itself i've been using ue4 for a while now and i'm quite familiar with it I just wanted.to know about complex particles, vector fields and if there was any other software used like houdini or blender etc. or if this was all made in ue4 🙂

Remember when epic would upload videos where they would start from scratch and you learned a whole lot?

I believe if they want to start this project from scratch it will take them at least 10 episode ~10 hours. thats why this one is just overview but don't forget he said it will end uo in learn hub i believe so we can download it and learn from it later.

You can't always start from scratch, it's a waste of time. This is a video about complex vfx, imo that implies the requirement of understanding the basics of ue4.

Nope. I cant remember that. There were all live trainning series, some better some worst. Nothing changed from then to today. The main difference between a live trainning and another is the "teacher". Alan Willard is not bad, not at all.
